Hatteras 2012 Recap

This year's Hatteras trip was pretty sweet. This is just a very brief recap of what went on while we were there: If you averaged out the amount of days windsurfing we had we pretty much sailed every second day. Most of the winds were from the north which made it perfect for freestyle since the sound becomes even more flat. We missed windfest but we got to check out the grand opening of Wind-NC and Hatteras Island Boardsports. It was a blast and the shop looks amazing! In terms of windsurfing, both Adam and I learned how to get into switch stance and comfortably plane while staying switch. We practiced ducking the sail but we still need some more, haha. I finally landed my first spock 540. The first one was kind of slow but then i start getting them pretty much perfect by almost planning out of a few. Here is a video were you can see it:

Overall, we had a blast as usual. We learned a ton which is always great and we can't wait until next year when we get to do it all over again. The plan is to hit up the gorge in a few weeks. We're hoping to leave around mid June and stay until mid July or even later.

New Year, hopefully more wind!

Just want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! A few more months of winter then comes spring. We all know what that means! WInd, wind, and more wind! Hopefully everyone is finding a way to stay active during this cold season. You don't want to get back on your board in the spring only to have your session cut short due to lack of stamina! One great way to keep in shape and to escape the grey coldness outside is to do some indoor rock climbing. We've been at it regularly for a few months now and its definitely improved our strength. It really works on all the key factors affecting your windsurfing. Its great for upper body and core strength as well as stamina and balance. Here are a few photos of us at our local climbing gym.
